Please follow these steps if you smell gas…

• Immediately extinguish any smoking and open flames. Flames or sparks from a variety of sources could trigger an explosion, including lights, telephones, cell phones and appliances. 
• If it is safe to do so, turn off the main gas supply valve on your propane tank. Turning it to the right will close off the supply. 
• Evacuate the area.
• Contact Consumer Oil & Propane to report the leak from a safe location. We may instruct you to call 911. 
• Wait until an emergency responder has determined it is safe before returning to the building or area.  
• Before you use your propane appliances or heating unit, a qualified service technician must certify that it is leak-free.
