History
Building on a Legacy
When Ron Bachman Jr. purchased Consumer Oil from the Baker family, it was the culmination of a long, friendly business relationship between two families.
Consumer Oil was a family tradition for the Bakers. Ron Bachman Sr. and Jerry Baker, along with their wives Rita and Charlene, were good friends and shared many fun times and great memories together.
That family tradition was passed down to the next generation in Kay Baker and to Ron Bachman Jr. When the Baker family decided it was time to sell, they naturally turned to Ron Jr. and his wife Beth. They knew their business, that was built over three generations, would be in good hands with the Bachmans. That’s when Consumer Oil & Propane was born.
Today, Ron Jr. and his wife Beth continue to honor the tradition of both families by remembering that hard work pays off, a handshake constitutes a commitment and you should always treat people the way you want to be treated.

Community Involvement
At Consumer Oil & Propane, we care about the people in our community. From involvement in local missions and ministries to supporting local arts and athletes, we promote empowering youth in education and enrichment. We have donated to area schools, Doniphan County 4-H Club and to a number of church mission trips. We enjoy seeing the excitement around all these endeavors, building up the community together!
